In a tragic hit-and-run accident on Tuesday night in Tacoma, a 44-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, as confirmed by the Tacoma Police Department (TPD).
The fatal collision occurred around 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of East 72nd Street and A Street, just north of Charlotte’s Blueberry Park. Witnesses informed officers that the driver hit the pedestrian along East 72nd Street and continued east without stopping.
The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the fatal crash by the Tacoma Fire Department. The TPD has not released the identity of the victim at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, with 72nd Avenue closed between Pacific Avenue and East B Street for several hours while authorities work to uncover the details of this tragic hit-and-run.
