Louisiana State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on U.S. 71 near the Natchitoches Parish and Winn Parish lines.
The crash claimed the life of 44-year-old Kelly Allen.
A preliminary investigation suggests that a 2008 Ford F-150 was heading northbound on U.S. 71. For reasons unknown, he lost control, traveled off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The truck then overturned into Saline Bayou.
Allen died on the scene. It is unclear if he was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
A routine toxicology was obatined and sent for further analysis. The crash is still being investigated.
