44-year-old Cynthia Hill dead after being hit by a truck in South Nashville (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 44-year-old Cynthia Hill, of Texas, as the woman who lost her life after being hit by a truck early Thursday morning in South Nashville.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on I-65, near the Wedgewood Avenue exit. The investigation reports showed that Cynthia Hill was walking in the lanes of I-65 South when she was struck by a red Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene after the accident. Hill was declared dead on the interstate.

The reports further revealed that Hill was in downtown Nashville with her family when she became separated on Wednesday night. I-65 South was closed down for several hours during the investigation. The scene was cleared and the interstate was back open at about 5:45 a.m. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
