The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday morning. The accident happened on Interstate 14 close to Nolanville at around 6 a.m. The collision involved an 18-wheeler.
The vehicle which was hauling 8,500 gallons of fuel, caught fire. According to Nolanville police, Austin resident Victor Powell, 43, perished in the collision.
Four more people with minor injuries were also taken to the hospital. According to police, two more people were approached about helping but turned them down.
Interstate 14 had to be shut down due to the fatal crash. Additional details regarding the crash are not available currently.
