The Oakland Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning. The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of East 27th Street and Fruitvale Avenue at around 8:28 a.m.
According to the official, multiple vehicles were involved in a collision. An SUV was headed south on Fruitvale Avenue at a high speed. The SUV sideswiped a Dodge Journey that was stopped in the southbound lane. It then crashed into the back of a BMW X-1 that was stopped in front of the Dodge.
The force of the collision pushed the BMW into an Audi A4 and the back of the SUV to propel into the road. It was then hit by a Toyota Highland SUV. The driver of the BMW was critically injured and was rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Her identity is not yet known at this time.
