Tragedy struck in Delaware County early Wednesday morning as a 43-year-old man lost his life in a fatal crash. Stephen Spengler was behind the wheel of a Ford, traveling east on Kilbourne Road in Kingston Township when the accident occurred just before 3:45 a.m.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Spengler veered off the left side of the road and collided with a tree. Despite the swift arrival of medics, Spengler was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
While investigations are ongoing, it remains to be determined if impairment or distractions played a role in the tragic incident.
