The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Loving County on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on CR 300, near mile marker 20.
According to the officials, a 2016 Peterbilt truck with a trailer was headed north on the highway. At the same time, a 2007 international truck was headed west on FM 652. The Peterbilt failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign which caused it to crash into the second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the victim as 43-year-old Eduardo Valdennegro.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
