On Saturday, 43-year-old Edmon Lynard Howard, of Henderson, lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 259 in Rusk County.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to US 259, approximately five miles south of Henderson at around 6:35 p.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. The early reports revealed that Edmon Lynard Howard was standing on or near the fog line next to a stalled pickup on US 259.
At some point of time, he got hit by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup, driven by 21-year-old Alex Clayton, of New Caney. Howard suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. No other details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
