The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Eastland County on Monday. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 183, at County Road 156 at around 3:20 a.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle and a cow were involved in a collision. An 18-wheeler was headed south on the highway when it crashed into a black cow. This caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 43-year-old Alberto Salazar.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
