According to the California Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Victor Smith was identified as the victim who was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Bakersfield. Two vehicles were involved in the collision.
On Highway 99 near Taft Highway, Victor Smith, driving his vehicle, was struck by a semi-truck from the back. As a result of the crash, Victor Smith was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
