The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Milam County on Sunday morning. The accident occurred at FM 486, north of Thorndale at around 10:40 a.m. 

According to the officials, a 2012 Kia Sorrento was headed south and had stopped while waiting for an oncoming vehicle to pass. At the same time, a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup was headed in the same direction and passed the Kia. Apparently, the Dodge failed to control its speed and crashed into the back of the Kia. 

The driver of the Dodge and one passenger were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the driver as 42-year-old Tyesha Nikole Tanner and the passenger was a 14-year-old boy. 

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
