A fatal crash on I-71 southbound claimed the life of a woman identified as 42-year-old Monet Landrum, according to Columbus police. The incident occurred just north of East North Broadway Street around 2:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Authorities reported that Landrum’s vehicle lost control, veering off the freeway and colliding with a tree. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene. As a result of the crash, part of the highway was temporarily closed.

Columbus Police’s Accident Investigation Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Details regarding the cause of the crash remain under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the tragic outcome.
