42-year-old Marcos Amay dead in a hit-and-run crash; Desirae Monique Corral arrested (Victorville, CA)

On Saturday, 42-year-old Marcos Amay, from Hesperia, was killed following an auto-pedestrian accident on Bear Valley Road while officers arrested 26-year-old Desirae Monique Corral, of Victorville, who initially fled the scene after the collision.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened at about midnight at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Hesperia Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that Amay was walking south across Bear Valley Road when a westbound vehicle driven by Corral hit him. Amay suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

Corral left the scene after hitting Amay. Officials followed Corral and arrested her on suspicion of DUI, causing death, hit and run resulting in death, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Officers booked her at the High Desert Detention Center. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
