A fatal crash involving a scooter occurred on Friday night on the West Side of San Antonio, prompting a response from the San Antonio Police Department. The multi-vehicle accident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on the 9500 block of West Commerce Street.
According to investigators, a 42-year-old man was riding a scooter in traffic when a yellow truck traveling in the same direction struck him with its front right side. The scooter lacked adequate lighting, and the driver wore dark clothing on the dimly-lit street, police stated.
Despite life-saving efforts by the San Antonio Fire Department, the scooter driver was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m. The driver of the truck remained uninjured, and the identity of the scooter driver has not yet been disclosed.
