According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Monday morning in Harrison County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on I-20, about three miles west of Waskom. The driver of a vehicle failed to drive in a single lane and lost control of the car. Subsequently, the car rolled over onto the right side and struck a truck trailer. The truck trailer then collided with a cable barrier.
The driver of the car was identified as 42-year-old Joshua D. Benz. Benz was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The trucker was identified as 42-year-old Kwabena A. Yeboah.
Yeboah did not sustain any injuries due to the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
