The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Thursday morning in Rusk County. The accident happened at US 259 and FM 850 intersection at around 6:45 a.m.
The collision involved an 18-wheeler. The preliminary DPS report states that 42-year-old Jose Manuel Robles, a Tyler man, was traveling west on FM 850 in a 2006 Chevy pickup truck. He was getting ready to cross U.S. 259 when Robles slammed into a 2015 Mack tanker truck tractor after failing to stop at the stop sign.
Robles was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not yet known if there were other injuries incurred in the accident.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
