The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim of a bicycle accident that took place in Santa Clarita on Saturday. The victim was 42-year-old Franklin Mejia.
Approximately at 12:42 p.m., Mejia was driving his bicycle at Market Street and Railroad Avenue. He was then involved in a crash. The events leading up to this crash are not entirely clear at this time. Mejia was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
