In the early hours of Sunday, a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred on FM 819, resulting in one death. The officials identified the victim to be Bradley Napier, 42, from Lufkin.
Another occupant, Winston Conway, 38, was transported to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan for treatment. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s preliminary investigation suggests that around 2 a.m., a 2015 Ford pickup, travelling southeast on FM 819 near FM 2108, veered off the roadway to the left. The vehicle collided with a concrete culvert and then struck another culvert before overturning.
Both occupants were ejected during the fatal crash. Investigators are working to determine who was driving the truck at the time of the accident.
