According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday morning in Yuba County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred off Highway 70 near Sparrow Lane.
For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle lost control of it and struck a construction barrel cone. As a result of this, the vehicle overturned multiple times.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries due to the accident. Other details including the identities of the victims remain unknown.
The cause of the wreck is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
