The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a hit-and-run accident last week. The accident occurred along U.S. Highway 69, near Seneca Road just south of Woodville at around 7:40 p.m.
According to the officials, a man and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The man was walking along the road when he was hit by a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim to be 41-year-old Jason Williams.
The driver of the Dodge fled the scene before the officials could arrive. He has since been caught and was discovered to be uninjured. The fatal crash is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
