A tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of 41-year-old Gloria Soto in Wasco on Sunday. The accident occurred on Palm Avenue near Poso Drive. According to the officials, a woman and a vehicle were involved in the collision.
Soto was riding her bike on Palm Avenue near Poso Drive when she was struck by a vehicle. This caused her to be fatally injured and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim later in the week.
Following the incident, deputies apprehended 21-year-old Gabriela Garza of Wasco, the alleged driver of the suspect vehicle. Garza faces charges related to the hit-and-run and other vehicle code offences. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
