According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Rocklin. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in suburban Rocklin, northeast of Sacramento. Casey Rivara was helping a family of ducklings cross the road when he was struck by a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 17-year-old girl. Casey was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The other information regarding the collision is yet to be released. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
