The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident on Highway 99 in south Sacramento on February 4. The single-vehicle crash occurred just before 4:30 a.m. along the northbound lanes of Highway 99, north of 47th Avenue in the Lemon Hill area.
According to the authorities, the woman was driving a white 2010 Ford SUV when she lost control, causing the vehicle to go off the highway, up an embankment, and overturn. The victim was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, which led to her being ejected from her seat. She was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the victim’s identity after notifying her family. The CHP is investigating other factors such as road conditions, speed, and the potential influence of alcohol or drugs.
