The Kennewick Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash early this morning. The accident happened on 14th westbound and Olympia at around 2:47 a.m.

According to the police, the collision involved a car and a pedestrian. A 40-year-old male was struck by a car and injured. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead later there. His identity has not been disclosed by the authorities. 

The responsible driver stayed at the scene. 

It is unsure how the crash happened and what caused the crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The fatal crash is being investigated by the KPD.
