Texas Department of Public Safety reported that one person lost their life in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of East County Road 160 and FM 1379 on Wednesday morning.
Jared Nowell, 40, from Early, Texas, who was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the fatal crash.
The preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 6:21 a.m., Nowell was traveling westbound on ECR 160. At the same time, a 2013 Freightliner truck with a trailer, driven by Jorge Rodriguez, 52, of Hutto, Texas, was heading northbound on FM 1379.
The stop sign for the westbound lane of ECR 160 was reportedly facing sideways when the Silverado entered the intersection, colliding with the Freightliner.
