According to the Michigan State Police, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Jackson County on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened on westbound I-94 in Grass Lake Township at around 1 p.m.
According to the officials, a semi-truck and another vehicle were involved in the collision.
The police stated that a semi-truck was slowing down on the highway to enter a set of weigh scales when it was rear-ended by another vehicle.
The driver of another vehicle was identified as the 40-year-old man who suffered major injuries during the crash.
