The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-20 near Ranger.
According to the officials, a 27-year-old driver, and his passenger, Guadalupe Ariza, 40, were traveling east down I-20 in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck during wet road conditions.
The driver traveled off the traffic lanes into the center median. The driver lost control when he tried to steer back during the wet road conditions, causing it to overturn.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
Ariz was pronounced dead. The cause of the death is yet to be determined.
The crash is being investigated.
