According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Indio. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred eastbound on Interstate 10, near Jackson Street. A pedestrian was struck by a semi-truck.
The pedestrian was identified as 40-year-old Blanca Quevedo. Quevedo was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other insights into the accident are yet to be revealed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. There are no other details available at this time.
