According to the New Mexico Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday morning in Rio Arriba County. Officials confirmed that four people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on US Highway 84 near Medanales. Two vehicles carrying two people in each struck one another. As a result of this both the vehicles burst into flames.
All four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The identity of the deceased people remains unknown. The crash continues to be investigated by the NMPD.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
