The California Highway Patro responded to a motor vehicle crash on Franklin Boulevard and 52nd St, around 1 p.m.
Shasha Adams, 29, was arrested following the crash for suspicion of DUI.
According to the police, an officer was pursuing someone for reckless driving. The officer lost sight of the vehicle and later found it on 47th Avenue after it was involved in a crash with a pedestrian and another vehicle.
The female pedestrian was transported to the hospital with severe injuries. The other vehicle occupants were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. An investigation into the crash is under review.
