The Glendale Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday night. The accident happened at around 10 p.m. close to Camelback Road and 59th Avenue.
According to Glendale Sgt. Randy Stewart, the accident occurred when one car struck another, setting off a series of collisions that resulted in five vehicles being struck.
One person was critically injured. Three other people were hospitalized with less serious injuries. The names and identities of the victims were not yet made public yet.
Detectives are still actively investigating the collision. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
The area was closed for investigation but it was reopened at around 4 a.m.
