Four people were hospitalized after a wreck Friday afternoon on I-10. The incident also led to the closure of the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 while crews worked at the scene.
As per the initial information, the five-vehicle pile-up took place near 7th Street. According to the authorities, four people were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. One person had to be removed from a vehicle.
One of the patients was listed in “critical” condition. Traffic was briefly rerouted to Interstate 17 but officials said the freeway’s lanes have since reopened. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time. No other details are available.
An investigation is underway.
