Officials report that 4 people were killed and 2 were critically injured in a collision between a golf cart and an SUV driven by an allegedly intoxicated man. The fatal incident took place at 11:30 PM on Saturday.
Police reports state that the SUV, driven by Miguel Espinoza ran a red light and struck a pickup truck, which crashed into a golf cart occupied by 6 people. The adult driver of the golf cart was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Of the 5 other occupants, 3 people (including 2 juveniles) succumbed to their injuries after being taken to a hospital. The 2 other occupants – an adult and a juvenile – were hospitalized in critical condition. The people inside the trucks were unharmed.
The SUV driver has been charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter. More details regarding the identities of the deceased and the injured.
