Authorities identified 39-year-old Tony Daniel Gross as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Monday night in Camp County.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on U.S. Highway 271 at about 9:30 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that Tony Daniel Gross was walking along the highway when a vehicle struck him as it turned onto County Road 4114.
Gross suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. At this time, it is unknown if the vehicle that hit the man stayed at the scene or not after the accident. No additional information has been provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
