39-year-old Robert John Bassett dead after an auto-pedestrian crash in Chandler (Chandler, AZ)

On early Saturday morning, 39-year-old Robert John Bassett lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in Chandler.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 12:40 a.m. on Alma School Road and Elliot Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that Bassett was crossing mid-block near Alma School and Elliot roads when he got hit by a vehicle.

Bassett suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene after the crash. The driver did not display any signs of impairment. Speed did not contribute to the accident. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
