On Wednesday, a fatal head-on crash on Santa Fe Avenue injured a 39-year-old Michael Perales, a resident of Turlock, moments before 8 a.m. south of East Keyes Road.
As per reports, a 48-year-old female driver and her teenage girl passenger from Denair were southbound on Santa Fe Avenue in a Chevrolet SUV. The Chevrolet entered the northbound lanes and crashed into a Perales’s Ram flatbed truck. On arrival, medics transported the female driver and her passenger to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where they both died later. Responders took Perales to Doctors Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Authorities are investigating whether the victims were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident and if drugs or alcohol played a role. As of now, officials did not release the identities of the victims.
