39-year-old man dead after his bicycle got struck by a vehicle; hit-and-run driver sought (Gardena, CA)

On Monday, authorities asked for the public’s help in finding the hit-and-run driver who hit and killed a 39-year-old bicyclist in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles near Gardena.

As per the preliminary reports, the 39-year-old man was riding his bike at about 2:40 a.m. on Sunday at Vermont Avenue and Alondra Boulevard when a vehicle struck him for unknown reasons.

The reports also showed that the man was riding westbound on Alondra Boulevard when he was hit by the vehicle heading northbound on Vermont Avenue. Authorities have not provided any description of the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle.

The city of Los Angeles has announced a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that helps authorities solve the fatal hit and run. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
