According to the Louisiana Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Slaughter.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the two-vehicle collision.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on LA 67 south of LA 421 in East Feliciana Parish.
A 2009 Chevrolet Impala crossed the center lane and crashed head on into a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
He was identified as 39-year-old Jason Herrin.
The driver of the Silverado and the two passengers in the truck suffered moderate injuries.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
The crash remains under investigation by the LPD.
