The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Vancouver on Friday afternoon.
The accident happened at Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue at around 1:45 p.m.
The motorcyclist was partially discovered by emergency personnel underneath the Volkswagen sedan that was damaged in the collision.
The sedan and the motorcycle happened as the driver of the sedan was turning southbound onto Hazel Dell Avenue from a parking lot.
The driver of the sedan was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
Ivan Nikitin, a 39-year-old motorcyclist from Vancouver, was found dead at the scene, according to paramedics.
Investigators discovered Nikitin had just bought a Suzuki DRZ motorcycle and had test-ridden it on Friday.
The motorcycle’s speed may have played a role in the fatal crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
