On Sunday, police actively responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 68 north of LA Hwy 10 in East Feliciana Parish moments after 1:30 p.m.
As per preliminary reports, Hills was walking in the southbound lane of LA Hwy 68 when a 2017 Kia Optima heading southbound on LA Hwy 68 hit Hills while he was walking in the roadway. On arrival, authorities declared 39-year-old Clifton Hills, a resident of Jackson. The driver of the Kia did not suffer any injuries and was restrained for questioning. Officials also collected toxicology samples from Hills and the driver of the Kia for analysis.
The authorities will continue to investigate the fatal accident.
