The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Eldorado on Friday night. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 190 at around 10:15 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was headed west when the driver attempted to pass the vehicle in front of her. This caused her to go into the oncoming lane where she crushed into a 2015 Ram 1500.
The driver of the Silverado was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Claudia Guadalupe.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
