The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Concord. The accident happened on Highway 242 at around 11:30 p.m. The collision involved a pedestrian.
A Pleasant Hill resident was driving a Lexus IS-250 south on Highway 242 when she struck a woman just south of the Clayton Road exit.
The resident was pronounced dead at the scene. She has since been identified as 38-year-old Aniesha Dotson. According to the CHP, a Lexus passenger received minor injuries. No harm was done to the driver.
Detectives were still trying to figure out why Dotson was on the road. It is unsure what caused the crash. Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found. The fatal crash is still being investigated.
