The Hayward Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash that killed a 37-year-old woman in Hayward on Sunday. The accident occurred in the area of D Street and Winton Avenue.
Approximately at 2:14 a.m., a vehicle driven by a 46-year-old man was attempting to make a turn from southbound D Street to Westbound Winton Avenue. The vehicle crashed into a tree.
A passenger was critically injured and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. She has only been identified as a 37-year-old woman.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
