On Friday, a 37-year-old woman lost her life following a multi-vehicle accident in Plymouth Township.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle wreck took place on M-14 near Beck. The incident occurred as traffic was stopped for a construction zone with lane closures. The early reports showed that the woman was going at a high rate of speed when her vehicle crashed into a vehicle from behind before slamming into the rear of a semi-truck trailer.
The drivers in the passenger car and the semi-truck did not receive any injuries as a result of the accident. The woman succumbed to her injuries after the crash. She was not buckled up at the time of the wreck. All eastbound lanes were shut down at about 8:30 a.m. as crews worked at the scene. The highway was back open at approximately 1:15 p.m. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
