A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 59 South, between San Jacinto County and Polk County, resulted in the death of Selina Gilchriest, 37, from Livingston. The initial collision involved a Toyota Tundra and a Volkswagen Beetle.
Subsequent crashes involved several vehicles, including a Freightliner truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, a Toyota Rav4, and others. Police officer Drew Broom, 37, and an 8-year-old child, also in Broom’s car, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, with Jacqueline Teeters, 44, identified as the Impala driver, treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The fatal crash occurred on the Trinity River Bridge around 8:20 a.m. on January 15.
