37-Year-Old Kent Man Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Puyallup (Puyallup, WA)

The Washington Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday evening. The accident happened on SR 161 at 144th street east at around 8 p.m.

A Kent man, 39 was operating the motorbike as it traveled north when a westbound vehicle entered the intersection. The motorcycle came to a stop in the intersection, and the car that the rider hit came to a stop on 144th Street’s sidewalk. 

The pickup driver, a 37-year-old Puyallup man, was taken to MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital to be treated for injuries after the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time. 

According to the news release, the failure to obey the traffic signal was found to be the fatal crash‘s primary cause. Drugs or alcohol were not thought to be contributing factors.
