The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 37-year-old Herardo Candles.

The crash happened when a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Canales, was traveling northbound on SH 349. A second vehicle, a 2018 Kenworth with a trailer, was traveling southbound on SH 349. For an unknown reason, Canales veered over into the southbound lanes and hit the side of the Kenworth and its trailer. 

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
