36-Year-Old Tony Weems Killed In A Hit-And-Run Accident In Pittsburg (Pittsburg, CA)

Authorities have identified the man fatally hit by a vehicle while walking on Railroad Avenue early Saturday as 36-year-old Tony Weems. Pittsburg police Lt. James Terry reported that officers responded to the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue around 1:35 a.m., where Weems was found. 

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital due to a fatal crash. A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run accident.

The case will be submitted to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office after toxicology test results are known. As of Tuesday morning, the woman was not in custody, and officers apprehended her without incident at her residence on Halsey Way.
