On Thursday morning, a single-vehicle rollover accident injured 36-year-old Thomas M Barnes, a resident of Soap Lake, and 34-year-old Aaron K Barnes, a resident of Ephrata, on state Route 17, about nine miles northwest of Mesa.
As per the reports, Thomas M Barnes was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 south on State Route 17, near Paradise Road. Traffic had slowed down in front of Barnes when he apparently went off the road to the left, officials said.
According to the officers, Barnes then overcorrected, causing the pickup truck to flip. Barnes and his passenger, Aaron K Barnes, were transported to Othello Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Officers cited Thomas Barnes for following too close. His pickup truck was reportedly wrecked as a result of the crash.
The incident remains under active investigation at this time.
