On Tuesday evening, 36-year-old Jennifer Scott, a Mount Vernon woman, lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on I-5 near Burlington.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Jennifer Scott was southbound just past Cook Road when she attempted to pass a vehicle on the shoulder and lost control of her vehicle. Her pickup crashed into the other car and both vehicles hit the median as a result of the impact.
Jennifer Scott was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. On arrival, emergency responders declared her deceased. The other driver from Mount Vernon did not suffer any injuries after the crash.
